Great reference guide for various crystals including how and when to work with them。 Also included is a brief lesson on how crystals form, how to cleanse and maintain your crystals, as well as gorgeous full-color photos of each crystal discussed!

I like that this book is organized by stone color instead of alphabetically like Hall's Crystal Bible series。 I like that this book is organized by stone color instead of alphabetically like Hall's Crystal Bible series。 。。。more

Amazing! Everything you need and color coordinated so the stones and crystals are easily identified and found。 Love this! Judy Hall is JUST the BEST for crystals and everything you need to know! You’ll love it! I’ve learned so much and it’s easily retained! I have trouble with that sometimes lol

I was a little disappointed in this book。 I have The Crystal Bible and was expecting something similar to that, however, this book sorts the crystals info by color, so in order to find the crystal you want to read about, you have to know the color and then hunt through that section。 Even when you’re in that section, the crystals are not alphabetized for easy finding, however, you can always use the index to look up a crystal and see what page it’s on, but the flow of the book doesn’t work for me I was a little disappointed in this book。 I have The Crystal Bible and was expecting something similar to that, however, this book sorts the crystals info by color, so in order to find the crystal you want to read about, you have to know the color and then hunt through that section。 Even when you’re in that section, the crystals are not alphabetized for easy finding, however, you can always use the index to look up a crystal and see what page it’s on, but the flow of the book doesn’t work for me。With the book being broken into crystal color, you have tigers eye in the brown crystal section, and then blue tigers eye in the blue crystal section, this was strange for me。 It seems like all colors of the same crystal should be lumped under the crystal name instead of separated out by color。 I know why the author did it this way since the crystals are sorted by color in this book, but it does not make it easy to find a specific crystal。 The descriptions of each crystal are very brief and includes the crystal system, chemistry, hardness, source, chakra, zodiac, planet and a brief list of benefits。I will say this book does have good pictures and covers a lot of crystals, so it’s definitely good for crystal identification, however, if you want to know more about healing and metaphysical properties, get The Crystal Bible by the same author。 。。。more

This book is perfect anyone who is new to crystals。 Bright vivid images, color coordinated, with quick value-packed info for each stone。 It doesn't include all crystals, but there's plenty of eye-candy to get you started。 This book is perfect anyone who is new to crystals。 Bright vivid images, color coordinated, with quick value-packed info for each stone。 It doesn't include all crystals, but there's plenty of eye-candy to get you started。 。。。more

Goede, duidelijke omschrijvingen。 Handige opdeling in kleuren。 Lijst achteraan met de kenmerken en waarvoor je de stenen kan gebruiken is fantastisch。

An excellent beginners book to become familiar with basic gemstones

Very informative, but is too heavy to carry around。

Because I have the three "Crystal Bible" books on my shelf, I was a bit torn as to whether or not I would keep this one。 It is organized according to color, which can prove challenging。 I found this to be the case with "Avalonite"。 It is not listed in the index at the back of the book and I can never seem to remember what color it's listed under。 So that can be really frustrating。 Having said that, there are a few crystals in this book that I don't have in the other three so that alone makes it Because I have the three "Crystal Bible" books on my shelf, I was a bit torn as to whether or not I would keep this one。 It is organized according to color, which can prove challenging。 I found this to be the case with "Avalonite"。 It is not listed in the index at the back of the book and I can never seem to remember what color it's listed under。 So that can be really frustrating。 Having said that, there are a few crystals in this book that I don't have in the other three so that alone makes it worth hanging on to。 Not my "go-to" crystal book but a nice addition to my metaphysical library。 。。。more

We have read this book through a few times and still use it regularly to look up information。

I like to think of Judy Hall as the Mother of Crystals。 This woman knows a lot about the little shiny things we all love to carry around in our pockets for love, good luck or health。 The last book that made my year awesome is this big fella, a very informative book in full color with beautiful pictures and so easy to understand。 The thing I love most about this one is that the crystals are sorted by color, and my slightly OCD mind just loves that! Fabulous reference due to the layout。 Often times I want to know what a crystal is but have to search page by page to identify。 This book has three reference ways for look-up, visually by color coded areas, by name, by purpose。 Fantastic resource however not everything is in this book。 I still have to look some things up online。 The only add-on I would put in this reference are color variations of the stones and what, if any, chakra they would be best with。

Samantha

Could have been organized alternatively to be more useful。

Carol

Glad to have this on my reference shelf!

This is a gorgeous book with lots of beautiful color pictures and a ton of great info。 The book is organized by color instead of alphabetically which has it's good and bad points。 Sometimes it seems repetitive and they may have the same rock pictured for different versions of the same stone i。e。 Tiger's Eye and Golden Tiger's Eye。 Some of the descriptions were paraphrased from Melody's book Love is in the Earth but at the end the author did include Melody in her bibliography and give her credit This is a gorgeous book with lots of beautiful color pictures and a ton of great info。 The book is organized by color instead of alphabetically which has it's good and bad points。 Sometimes it seems repetitive and they may have the same rock pictured for different versions of the same stone i。e。 Tiger's Eye and Golden Tiger's Eye。 Some of the descriptions were paraphrased from Melody's book Love is in the Earth but at the end the author did include Melody in her bibliography and give her credit in the acknowledgments as well。 Overall I recommend this book and appreciate all it had to offer。 。。。more

This book was a great help to me in finding crystals by color which is organized by crystal color。 I also learned about healing crystals and our chakras crystals。 I found a lot of advice with the healing crystal on how to use them and also cleanse and activate them。 I highly recommend this book to add on to your library。I was given this book from Quarto Knows for an honest review。

The book categories each crystals by color, which makes it incredibly easy to look them up。 Some of the information included under each stone are Crystal System, Chakra, Number, Zodiac Sign, and Planet。 It also includes a paragraph on their physical, spiritual, and/or emotionalhealing properties。 There are several books on crystals in my library but, this is the one I finding myself reaching for first。

Gorgeous pictures sorted by color of the crystals。 250 pages with one to three different stones per page covered quite a variation。 I just wish there were more details about the stones and their usage。

Fairly useful, mostly for chakra healing and just general knowledge。 This would be handy to have around for a reference。 You will find no elemental correspondences in this book, but you will find loads of great photos and good general knowledge。 (Saga Culina)

So much of this book gets 5 stars, the size of the book, the photos of the crystals, the layout, how the book is divided, the info of how crystal are formed in the earth/chemistry。 I take off two stars because, based on the title I thought I would be getting an Encyclopedia of Crystals。 The title should have added with "focusing on healing" If so, I would have known that's really all this book is about and would not have ordered it。 I was hoping for more on the crystal them selfs - how to grade/ So much of this book gets 5 stars, the size of the book, the photos of the crystals, the layout, how the book is divided, the info of how crystal are formed in the earth/chemistry。 I take off two stars because, based on the title I thought I would be getting an Encyclopedia of Crystals。 The title should have added with "focusing on healing" If so, I would have known that's really all this book is about and would not have ordered it。 I was hoping for more on the crystal them selfs - how to grade/colours/crates ect not each little write up mainly devoted to the healing/chakras associated with it。 But, if that's what you are looking for, this would be the book。 。。。more

I found this book to be an interesting read。 However, I feel like a lot of the information was borderline opinion based (As is this review, keep in mind!)。 I also feel that, though it was informative in a lot of areas, it could have used more fact based data than what it did。
